September Workshop

Join Us for a Community Service Day Supporting Children's Healthcare of Atlanta!

Come make a difference in the lives of hospitalized children! We're hosting a hands-on community service event to create comfort items for patients at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

What We'll Be Making:

  • NICU Scent Squares — small comfort squares for NICU families
  • Easy Peasy Teddy Bears — simple sew/no-sew bears for young patients
  • Composition Notebook Covers — decorated covers to brighten a child's notebook
  • Lovies — small tag blankets for little ones to cuddle
  • Bags of Courage — care bags for children facing tough treatments

No experience necessary — supplies and instructions will be provided.  However, donations are always welcomed. Just bring your hands and your heart!

Lunch will be provided by the guild.

Check out the Community Service website for more information, patterns and suggested donations

We hope you'll join us for a rewarding day of giving back!

Patty Murphy Lonestar

October Meeting

Patty Murphy will be joining us to speak about Zero Waste Quilting.

"Create stunning quilts with confidence and whip up the related projects to use every last bit and piece of leftover fabric, resulting in zero waste"

Patty will give us tips and tricks to turn our fabrics, even the tiniest of scraps, into fresh projects.

Patty Murphy Lonestar

October Workshop with Patty Murphy

Discover how easy it is to make a Lone Star Quilt when you learn all the right tricks. This playful, scrappy version takes the fear out of color placement by using a variety of strips to create a bold eight-pointed star. It’s great for stash-busting or for using up a roll of 2 1/2” strips. Patty will walk you through accurate strip piecing and cutting strips on an angle to ensure perfect points in all your diamonds. You will conquer the fear of y-seams, and you will leave with a beautiful quilt.
